...To a new way of working. One that illuminates your strengths, mitigates your weaknesses, and empowers you, within dynamic teams, to do the work you love.
Team leaders are the catalyst for every success or failure an organization has. Everything from communication, innovation, and change to productivity and growth- it all flows through the team leader. It's time to design our education, coaching and technology explicitly for the team leader. The team leader is our first and most important audience.
We can't keep forcing our team leaders to use our education, coaching and technology. Instead we have to think of each of these as an experience designed specifically for them. And this experience must be compelling. Only then will team leaders and their teams actively seek out and use the tools we've built for them.
We measure performance and engagement in batches; once or maybe twice a year if we're lucky. Yet we all know performance happens in real-time and should be coached and course-corrected in real-time. Engagement is also built or diminished in real-time. So what team leaders need is real-time data on both- they need the reliable measure of now.
We used to deliver value through the monolithic organization. Not anymore. Now, we deliver value through local, organic teams. They take myriad forms, converge and disperse at the project level, and include employees, freelancers and anyone else who brings the right skillset. And by the way, the team lead is 24 years old... and has never done this before. This is our future.
